If it’s part of your home’s exterior, Feazel can fix it. That includes chimneys. We’ve been a leader in chimney repair services and masonry in Ohio since 1988 and replaced over 2,000 chimneys last year alone. Our masonry expertise and experience are unmatched.
With so much of the chimney exposed to the environment, it is particularly vulnerable to wind and storms, not to mention normal wear and tear. All of that can cause cracking or lifting of the sealant around the chimney, increasing the likelihood of structural damage, leaks, and mold damage to your home. Whether your chimney is in need of preventative maintenance, chimney crown repair, proper chimney flashing or an overall rebuild, Feazel’s Dayton experts can fix your problem. Contact our Dayton office today for a free evaluation of your chimney
All chimneys are susceptible to water damage, meaning that even if your chimney is not in need of repair, it could need maintenance in the form of water repellent. Feazel’s preventative maintenance program uses ChimneySaver water repellents, the first choice of chimney professionals for nearly 20 years. This water repellent is 100% vapor permeable, meaning it won’t trap water vapor, and reduces water penetration into the masonry by 99.9%, according to independent testing.
Contact Feazel Dayton today to take advantage of the 10-year warranty that comes with our ChimneySaver water repellents.
Damaged or cracked chimney crowns can result in costly repairs. These masonry roofs that cover the top of your chimney are intended to prevent moisture from seeping into and damaging the masonry below, meaning their structural integrity is of paramount importance. A thorough chimney evaluation from Feazel’s Dayton office and catch any problems with your chimney crown early.
Feazel uses a flex crown solution in our repairs that will dry in about 6 hours and cure completely in about 24 hours, leaving a natural mortar or concrete appearance. This solution forms a flexible waterproof membrane to properly protect your chimney crowns. Feazel’s flex crown solution comes with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
When it comes to chimney flashing, it’s easy to take shortcuts. Feazel never will. Chimney flashing, the protective covering of the chimney’s angles and joints, is one of the most common causes of chimney leaks when it is done incorrectly. Many contractors will nail or “pin” metal flashing to the mortar and seal with caulk, an improper method that will likely pop loose after just a few years of exposure to the environment. Feazel guarantees a much more thorough approach.
Our Dayton-area experts use the “Grind and Tuck” technique, one in which we grind the mortar joints, bend the metal along the top of the flashing and tuck it back into the mortar joints. The mortar caulk is then pinned back into the joint, causing a permanent watertight seal that will perform maintenance-free for many years. It’s a process our craftsmen are proud of.
